Homopolymer Acetal or Delrin is a great plastic for turning on a lathe lathe. It’s very easy to turn, although it does require reduced speeds. I have used this material to make Scottish small pipes chanters. I have bought countless items from Industrial Plastic . The small parts usually ship quickly and everything is always well packed. I’ve never had an issue with an order. Between the Delrin and Acetal rods, both materials are incredibly durable and easily machinable, and they have comparable physical properties. They do look the same, but in practical use there are a few differences that may make one preferable than the other. It also depends heavily on your application.
